Dotl has been passed around all his life, first among relatives, then among masters. Just as he’s giving up hope of ever finding a home, he answers a strange Notice advertising for an apprentice. He gets the job, only to find out his new master is an elderly dragon.
Life with Nopper is not what he expected. He gets set strange duties, like collecting valuable artifacts, feeding misinformation to knights, negotiating cave treaties with dwarves, and kidnapping a princess. Master Nopper even promises to teach him to fly.
Not everyone is happy with Nopper’s new arrangements, however, including the nephew who stands to inherit everything. When everything falls apart, will Dotl be able to hold onto his first real home?
